  • Friday 17 June 2022 Cake Sale This week Year 6 hosted a fantastic cake sale to raise funds for their production. Thank you for supporting them! And a big thank you to parents for baking and bringing in the most delicious cakes! Alfie’s Nan’s Victoria sponge was a big hit!
  • Friday 17 June 2022 Reception Superheroes! Blythe class continued their learning based around Superheroes this week. They created their own superheroes and wrote sentences to describe them. Today they all dressed up either as a known or made-up superhero! There were some fantastic homemade costumes such as Flower Girl, Super Flash, Brave Girl, Frice (fire and ice boy), Bubble Girl and Water Woman.All the children were so excited about Superhero day! Superheroes of course have to be strong, quick and brave, so they spent the day training.
  • Friday 17 June 2022 National Gallery Art Workshop Fuji and Etna have enjoyed some fantastic art sessions led by artists from The National Portrait Gallery this week. The children created portraits of famous residents of the Borough of Lewisham using charcoal and pastel. Olympus and Denali classes will also be working with artists from the National Gallery later this term.

  • Friday 10 June 2022 The Book Hut We all went to the book hut again today and came back with yet another book to take home and keep, thanks to The Children’s Book Project.
  • Friday 10 June 2022 Reception Class Update! What a busy first week we have had in Blythe Class! On Monday, the children were very excited to see that the five butterflies had come out of their cocoons! The children observed them and spoke about the features of a butterfly. They also enjoyed doing some observational paintings of them. Hassan said "they like nectar, we need more flowers", so the children decided to release them on Tuesday. There was a magical moment when a butterfly decided to say a final goodbye to a few children! On Wednesday we continued our story of 'Supertato' as part of our topic 'A Brave Crash and a Splash’. When the children entered the classroom, they were shocked to see the classroom in a mess! There was toilet paper in unusual places, pencils stuck to tables, chairs on the floor and.... PEAS...lots of peas! The children were quick at putting the clues together, it was the Evil Pea from the story who was up to no good! Miss Cartwright had also unfortunately encountered the Evil Pea!   • Friday 10 June 2022 Lewisham School Games Y5/6 Girls Cricket Finals: Shield Competition Winners! On Tuesday, Martin took a team to the Lewisham School Games Y5/6 Girls Cricket Finals at The Catford and Cyphers Cricket Club in Catford, and the girls came back as the Shield Competition winners!
  • Friday 10 June 2022 Ruby House Reward On Monday, Ruby house had their special prize for winning the house point competition for this term. All the children had a choice between watching a film or playing board games. They all had squash and popcorn to snack on while they enjoyed their prize activities. For the staff, it was a pleasure to take part in the prize as all the children were incredibly polite respectful to the adults who had organised and supported these treats. Most of the children chose to watch Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which received lots of laughter and captured the audience!

  • Friday 27 May 2022 Our Jubilee Party We were getting worried about the weather this week, but we were lucky with a beautiful sunny day for our party today!
  • Friday 27 May 2022 Reception Brilliance Blythe Class have had a fantastic half term learning about plants and animals. They planted broad beans, cress, potatoes and lots of flowers. They also watched caterpillars grow in size and make their own cocoons. Hopefully there will be some butterflies when we return back to school!
  • Friday 27 May 2022 Cosy Reading Day We had a great day in Pyjamas on Tuesday celebrating cosy reading. There were some great entries into the cosy reading competition! The winners got to choose a book of their choice from the book fair.
  • Friday 27 May 2022 House Point Excitement On Thursday there was some feverish counting of the house point tokens. Children receive these from any member of staff for showing something that goes above and beyond the expected. All children are in a house team and every member of the winning team will receive the reward.

  • Monday 23 May 2022 Year 4 Wildlife Explorers! Year 4 have been pond dipping and making use of our wildlife area to classify invertebrates. They found pond snails, pond skaters, butterflies and other organisms within these habitats.

  • Monday 23 May 2022 Reminder about RSE meetings for parents Thank you to all the parents and carers who attended the Year 3 and Year 6 meetings this week. The Year 5 and 4 ones are next week.
  • Monday 23 May 2022 E-Safety Workshop We sent a letter home last week all about the special E safety workshops for parents. It is 9am on Wednesday 25th May in the hall. I know that your children’s safety is your top priority so please make every effort to come to this meeting.
  • Monday 23 May 2022 The Book Fair is Here! The book fair is here! It arrived and is here to stay, until this Thursday 26th May. All the children will have a chance to look round it so that they can talk to you about what is in it and you will have the chance to buy books after school until next Thursday. Come in via the Year 5/6 gates after school and you will find it!
  • Friday 13 May 2022 Year 6 Crowns Year 6 spent some time designing their own crowns and investigating colour mixing with water colours to paint them.
  • Friday 13 May 2022 Year 3 Go to Mudchute Farm As part of their Year 3 reading textCharlotte’s Web, both classes went on a trip to Mudchute Farm to further explore the setting of our story. The children got a chance to engage their senses in the sights, smells, sounds and textures of a real-life farm!
