Forest - Monday
Hi Forest Class,
Make sure you have a look at our Weekly Update to see what your Reception friends got up to last week! Scroll down until you see the WOW Board- here you will find some of the amazing things that students have been doing at home. You can find the Weekly Update here. You can also find other fun maths and topic activities that you might like to do during the week.
This week we are reading 'The Gingerbread Man'
What do you think this book will be about? What might happen?
Now listen to the story
Miss Cohen's, Emma's and Ms. Fullerton's groups - Learning 'u'
Miss Fernando's group - Learning special friends 'oy'
Can you make your own sound book? After you have learned a new sound, write it in your book! Then see if you can draw some pictures with that sound and label its name.
If you go for a walk with your family today, can you count how many red cars that you see? If you don't go out for a walk today, can you have a look out of a window and count how many red cars you can see? Can you count how many blue front doors you can see?
Smelling spices: The old woman in the Gingerbread Man used some spices to make the Gingerbread.
With an adult, can you explore some of the spices that you have at home in your cupboard? You might find some ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamon, turmeric, basil, oregano, coriander or star anise.
Can you talk about what it smells like? Does it remind you of anything? Would you use any of these to make a Gingerbread Man?
Have you used any of these before? What did you put them in?
I look forward to hearing about your learning!
