Matterhorn - Thursday
Today we are going to be answering some questions about The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch. We call this exercise comprehension.
To comprehend means to show you understand something. When we answer questions it shows we understand the story.
Watch the story again and answer these questions:
1. How did the captains of the ships show they were grateful to Mr Grinling?
2. Write about what might happen if Mr Grinling had not tended the lighthouse.
3. From the story, copy the words which tell you Hamish was scared.
Use yesterday's Boxing Up plan to write your paragraphs of your draft. There are five paragraphs to write.
Remember, a paragraph is a group of sentences. You can write your paragraphs on a spare piece of paper or type it on a document.
Practice the suffix -er ending.
This week we will be focusing on unit and non-unit fractions!
A unit fraction is a fraction where the numerator (top number) is 1 and the denominator (bottom number) is the whole number.
A non- unit fraction has a numerator greater than one.
