Miss Cohen's, Emma's and Ms. Fullerton's groups - Learning 'qu'
Now you have practised the sound, can you have a go at reading these words with Geraldine?
Miss Fernando's group - Learning special friends 'ear'
Can you make your own sound book? After you have learned a new sound, write it in your book! Then see if you can draw some pictures with that sound and label its name.
On Monday, we learnt that doubling means making an identical set.
Today we are going to double numbers and find out the total. To do this you will need paper, paint and a pencil.
1. First, fold your piece of paper in half lengthways.
2. Next, open it up and paint 1 dot on the left-hand side.
3. Then, fold the piece of paper back on itself.
4. Finally, open it up. How many dots are there now?
So double 1 is 2! Carry on until you double the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
Challenge: Can you double the numbers 6, 7 and 8?
Here are a few examples you can do today:
I hope you had fun creating your 'Huff and Puff' bubble paintings on Monday! Please send any photos you may have taken to firstname.lastname@example.org
Today I have a special 'Huff and Puff' painting activity for you!
You will need:
- Watercolour (a little bit of paint and mix in water)
Get your paintbrush and place a blob of watercolour on your piece of paper. Use your straw and blow on the blob of watercolour. Watch it move around on the piece of paper! Try to use different colours and make it move in different directions by moving your straw.
Tip: Make sure the watercolour is liquidy and not thick so that it is easy to move around.
